Project Overview:
YoPizza is a pioneering mobile application that revolutionizes the way users order customized pizzas. This app aims to streamline the pizza customization and ordering process, allowing users to place orders in less than three minutes.

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS

I started a research project to discover useful insights that could help improve the feature set of YoPizza. To do this, I downloaded and analyzed the four most popular pizza-ordering apps, paying attention to their features, user experience and feedback. After analyzing the data, I created a matrix which identified the most important features that could enhance the overall user experience.

Based on the insights gathered, I designed a user flow that envisioned the optimal app experience. This evolved into a comprehensive experience map, detailing each interaction point within the app and the emotional response elicited from the user.

  • a businessperson ordering food for an upcoming meeting

Solution: Simplifying the Ordering Process

To address user needs, three streamlined ordering methods were introduced:

  • Best Deal: Offers an immediate, value-oriented selection.

  • Quick Add: Enables rapid addition of favorite items.

  • Pizza Club: A loyalty feature for frequent users.

The user flow laid the foundation for the app's design, focusing on:

  • Highlighting the "Best Value" deals.

  • Efficient categorization for easy navigation (e.g., veggie, meat lover, kid-friendly).

  • The importance of comparison in decision-making.

  • Enhancing visual appeal to stimulate user engagement.

Using previous experiences and data to craft a better experience is key to user retention. 
Allow the app to leverage past behaviours to remove repetitive and unnecessary steps.
